Located on a man-made island overlooking downtown Amsterdam, the Room Mate Aitana Hotel is a testament to modern design and luxurious living. Designed by Bakers Architecten in collaboration with interior designer Tomás Alía, the hotel’s sleek architecture and vibrant interiors create a seamless connection between the city’s urban landscape and its waterways.

For the interior, Alía’s design team carefully selected Kvadrat upholstery textiles, bringing warmth and sophistication to the hotel’s contemporary spaces. Upholstery fabrics such as Hallingdal 65, Star, Sunniva, Tonus, Ledger, Scuba, Divina, and Waterborn were chosen to enrich the hotel’s aesthetic, offering both durability and timeless appeal.

These textiles are featured prominently across the hotel's common areas and private rooms, blending comfort with clean lines and geometric forms. The striking Hallingdal 65, with its rich texture and bold colours, complements the sleek furniture pieces, while Sunniva and Star provide subtle contrast through their soft hues and tactile weaves.

In the lounge and reception areas, Tonus and Scuba bring depth and vibrancy, wrapping the seating in inviting tones that enhance the natural light streaming through the expansive windows. The use of Divina and Waterborn in guest rooms creates a calming retreat, with soft-to-the-touch fabrics that elevate the sense of luxury.

As guests move through the hotel, the thoughtful integration of Kvadrat textiles enhances the overall experience, from the vibrant public spaces to the serene private rooms.
